WPIAL contingent stands out at All-American game
On the first play from scrimmage during practice Wednesday for the U.S. Army All-American football game, Jeannette quarterback Terrelle Pryor connected with Aliquippa receiver Jonathan Baldwin. Despite being 1,500 miles from Pittsburgh, the WPIAL quarterback-receiver duo put their talents on display while preparing for the high school all-star football game at the Alamodome. Pryor and Baldwin, along with Gateway linebacker Shayne Hale and Thomas Jefferson lineman Lucas Nix, will represent the WPIAL in the nationally televised game (1 p.m. Saturday, NBC). “Our kids, the four of them, are some of the best kids down here,” said Gateway coach Terry Smith, who is an assistant for the East team. “They are all representing western PA very well and from day one, they all realized they are pretty good.
