My First Audition Casting Call

PETALUMA , Cell phones are ringing in Telecom Valley and equipment makers are listening.  The year 2007 saw unprecedented investment in wireless companies: $356 million in the first quarter alone, according to Celent Research. DELAWARE: Cell-only users must register for Reverse 911

Posted by admin

DOVER — Delawareans who use cell phones exclusively may sign up for a program that will help warn them of emergency evacuations, chemical spills and other problems.  The state’s reverse-911 program dials thousands of phones instantly to deliver the warnings, but is based on a land-line system and lacks many cell-phone numbers. An estimated 13 percent of Americans solely use cell phones and would not be reached by such warnings.  “It causes a potential communications gap for emergency managers,” said Joe Thomas, Sussex County’s director of emergency operations.  Residents who want to register their cell phones may call (866) 484-3264 or visit www.firstcall.net/unlisted.htm.
