My dad and my husband love to go fishing, even though they don’t get to do it as often as they like. My brother used to go with them before he moved away, and he said he missed the fishing trips most of all. He went out and got his own boat, but forgot to do one very important thing. He forgot that like cars, you have to get boat registration when you want to use a boat in any body of water. You may not if you are on private land, but most will use their boats in water meant for the public.

Though my husband has a lot of hobbies, bass fishing is one of his favorites. He is not a lot of time to fish lately, and it is much easier for him to golf. However, this does not mean that he will not continue to fish for the rest of his life. Though he likes all forms of fishing, bass fishing is by far his most favorite. He learned a lot of bass fishing techniques from my dad, and is always watching television shows to help him learn even more.

Bamboo rods are ideal for fishing because of their very nature. Bamboo is a natural plant that offers a lot of movement that is perfect for fishing rods. Rigid materials just aren’t suitable for rod designs. While there are many pliable materials that bend and give, few are naturally equipped to move with the fisherman.

When I was a little kid, fishing trips were one of the highlights of the summer. We lived near a little river, and although nothing ever seen to be biting there, I was always confident that I would catch something that day. When my dad wasn’t Around, I walked down to the lake with my fishing tackle and spend the whole morning and early afternoon casting my line. I never caught anything, but the whole thing was so relaxing but it didn’t matter to me. It was the perfect fishing trip for a little kid.

Ever since one of my good friends took me out fishing last year, I have wanted to buy a fishing boat. The one he uses is pretty decrepit and bare-bones. As a matter of fact, we spent half the time bailing and the other half fishing. Needless to say, all of that water splashing into the lake scared off some of the fish, but we still had a great time. I even helped him to patch up that fishing boat over the summer, and by the end of it, it almost looked like new. However, I really longed to have my own fishing boat so that I could go whenever I wanted.

The state Fish and Game Commission is set to consider a two-month fishing ban on the lower American River as a way to ward off poaching and preserve the steelhead trout population. The ban for February and March, if approved, would be the first in years along a 26-mile section of the river from Nimbus Dam to the Sacramento River. That stretch is one of the region’s most popular, meandering through the American River Parkway, where anglers logged 265,000 hours fishing in 2007. A fly-fishing organization representing 7,000 Northern California anglers is asking the state commission for the ban, which would interrupt the steelhead trout season
